Senior Clinical Psychologist
Lou is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, qualified since 2010. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and joined the CMCAFS team in December 2022. Prior to joining the team, Lou has previously worked within specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Learning Disability CAMHS, Paediatrics and within the voluntary sector (with a leading Children’s charity). She specialised in working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs as well as the systems around them.
Within her current role with CMCAFS, Lou provides consultation and facilitates formulation sessions with multi-disciplinary colleagues across looked after services.
Lou has completed post qualification training in Narrative therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapies, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Psychological Responsive Leadership and clinical supervision skills. Lou is also trained in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and is a ‘PBS Coach’ with the British Institute of Learning Disabilities and as a ‘Sleep Practitioner’ with the Sleep Charity.
Lou is influenced by Systemic theory in her practice and often uses Narrative Therapy in her direct work with Children and families. She also draws from Compassion Focussed and ACT based approaches.
